Paddle Board Introductory Course

Service Description

Stand-up paddle (SUP) is a water sport where you stand on a board and use a paddle to propel yourself. It's a fun and relaxing activity that can be enjoyed on lakes, rivers, streams, or oceans. Do you want to start this sport with the right basics, safety, and techniques on the water? We are certified instructors with Paddle Canada, and we are excited to teach the fundamentals to our clients. Our introductory paddle board course begins with an introduction to the equipment and safety. The instructor will show you how to carry the board, attach the safety leash, and adjust the paddle to your size. Next, you'll learn the basic techniques for getting onto the board, balancing, and paddling. The instructor will teach you how to kneel on the board and how to transition to a standing position. You'll also learn how to paddle effectively to move across the water, how to safely fall off, and how to get back on the board. Once you're comfortable on the board, the instructor will take you out on the Assomption River. This calm river is the perfect environment for beginners. You'll practice techniques on the water, focus on your balance, and learn water safety rules. You'll also learn how to navigate around obstacles and turn using your paddle. Complete equipment for the activity, including a life jacket, will be provided! When? Certain Sundays starting June 22, 2025 Arrive 15 minutes early. Where? Maria-Goretti Park in Saint-Charles-Borromée The waterbed is sandy and perfect for swimming. The entry to the water is easy. How Much? $60 + tax = $68.99 Pay in advance to secure your spot! For Whom? Groups of 8 people! Ages 15 and up! What to Bring? Water bottle, swimsuit, towel, and change of clothes. The park offers amenities such as washrooms, picnic tables, and free parking. Please note that in case of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or insufficient registrations, the activity will be canceled or rescheduled to another date.
